Vitebsk. Vitebsk Zoo

Vitebsk Zoo is one of the most popular places in Vitebsk, bringing together representatives of different generations. Children, parents, and grandparents love to spend time here, enjoying walks among the greenery.

The zoo is the third largest among the zoos in Belarus and is located in the city center, at 17 Yanka Kupala Street. It was founded on March 30, 1992 on the site of a former amusement park and has since become a favorite vacation spot for families.

The zoo is home to more than 70 species of animals, including lions, lynx, jaguars, wolves, bears, camels, bison, moose, raccoon dogs, macaques and chinchillas. In addition, you can see a variety of birds such as gulls, cormorants, herons, mallards and ducks, as well as rodents and exotic animals. Information signs are installed near each aviary, telling about the peculiarities of its inhabitants.

Although the conditions of detention are not ideal, zoo staff make every effort to take care of the pets, renovate the enclosures, renovate the premises and provide the animals with high-quality food.
