Description

Putilkovichi is a magical and picturesque place, secluded from the main highways, which preserves the richness of nature, Belarusian traditions, soothing silence and many human stories.

On July 10, 1980, a memorial museum was established in the village of Putilkovichi, the birthplace of the Belarusian national poet Petrus Brovka. It took five years of painstaking work to collect materials for the restoration of the poet's house, destroyed during the war by the German occupiers.

Petrus Brovka House Museum in Putilkovichi.

Pyotr Ustinovich Brovka is a national poet of Belarus, a talented novelist, winner of many awards and prizes.

During the war years, Brovka worked in the partisan and front-line press. After the war, he became the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Flame" and held this position until 1948. From 1967 to the end of his life, he worked as the editor-in-chief of the Belarusian Soviet Encyclopedia, writing such significant works as "To the Native Shores" and "Bread".

The museum, located on the site of the Brovka estate, where the family had lived since 1925, opened its doors in July 1985. The Brovka House Museum, where he was born and raised, reflects his creative life.

The exhibition is divided into memorial and literary parts.

The memorial part features ethnographic objects reflecting the life of local peasants, including personal belongings of the Brovka family and household items that allow you to feel the atmosphere of peasant life at the beginning of the 20th century.

The literary part introduces the poet's early work and contains copies of his manuscripts, published books and unique photographs and documents that demonstrate his personality as a citizen and a true patriot.

In this museum, you can not only get acquainted with the life and creative path of Petrus Brovka, but also study everyday objects of that time and really feel the special atmosphere of the beautiful Belarusian countryside that exists here.
