Kamen. Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

The village of Kamen in the Volozhin district is located 6 kilometers from Ivenets. The Kamenka river hides through the place and on the outskirts there is a large boulder stone, possibly from which the name of this settlement originated. The first mention in written sources dates back to the 15th century. At first it belonged to the Gedigoldovich family, under whom the first Catholic parish was founded, then to Zabarevsky, who built a church here in the 16th century. At the same time, a fortified castle was being built, which existed until the 18th century.

The new owners built a new Catholic church in 1679, which was restored twice in the 19th century. The Catholic shrine was consecrated in honor of the Apostles Peter and Paul. The church burned down during the war in 1944.

The church was wooden, built in the traditions of folk architecture with Baroque elements. The temple was three-nave with 2 towers on the facade. The interior was decorated with five altars with plaster sculptures. In front of the church there was a wooden two-tiered four-sided bell tower. The churchyard was surrounded by a stone fence made of rubble stone.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, construction began on a new Catholic church in the same place where the old church was. The new church was built in 1991 with elements of neo-Gothic. Only the stone fence of the 19th century has been preserved from the old architectural ensemble.
