Description
The Belarusian village of Dzerzhinovo is the birthplace of one of the most iconic figures of the 20th century. Felix Dzerzhinsky, an outstanding Soviet revolutionary and one of the leaders of the October Revolution, as well as a statesman and party leader who founded the Soviet secret services, received the famous nickname "iron Felix". The original estate of his family was destroyed by the Germans in 1943, but was restored many years later. The museum exhibits recreate the interiors of historical rooms where authentic objects belonging to the Dzerzhinsky family in the late 19th and early 20th centuries are kept. Among the exhibits you can find furniture, personal belongings, books and rare family photographs.

The museum-estate "Dzerzhinovo"
The memorial complex "Dzerzhinovo" was founded in 1972 as a branch of the F.E. Dzerzhinsky Museum, located in the urban settlement of Ivenets, Volozhinsky district. In 2005, it was transferred to the Stolbtsovsky district Executive Committee, which on April 17, 2006 created an independent institution – the Museum-Estate "Dzerzhinovo".
The museum is located 75 kilometers from Minsk, surrounded by a picturesque pine forest on the banks of the Usa River, on the border of Nalibok Forest. In the 19th century, the Dzerzhinsky Estate was located here, where Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky, a Soviet statesman and party leader, was born.
Since 1963, the estate with an adjacent territory of 80 hectares has been a natural monument of national significance, and since 2002 it has been included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus.
Visitors can explore the exposition on their own or with a guide.
Currently, the museum's exhibition includes original documents, photographs and other materials dedicated to the life and work of Felix Dzerzhinsky. It also provides information about the history of the formation of Soviet power, as well as about independent Belarus.
Until 2004, the memorial complex was represented by 48 boulders, according to the number of years Felix Dzerzhinsky lived. Today they lie along the alleys leading to the museum.
Sightseeing, thematic and guided tours for tourists are held on the territory of the museum complex.
The museum offers various activities, secluded places to relax and scenic walks along forest paths.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday.
