This 18th-century manor complex is a striking example of classical architecture.

Gorodets gained its fame in the XVIII century, when a magnificent palace of Plyaters appeared here, which has survived to the present day. Moreover, the first hydroelectric power plant in the east-western region on the Mnuta River has started operating in Gorodets, which was also built thanks to the efforts of one of the representatives of the Plyater family.

The manor complex, created in the XVIII century, is a striking example of classical architecture. The palace, located deep in the landscape park, on a terraced slope, is an interesting structure: one-story on the sides and two-story in the center. The central part is emphasized by a four-column portico. The interior layout is typical of classicism: a spacious lobby, a main hall with access to a wide terrace.

There is a ten-hectare landscape park around the estate. The entrance alley deserved special attention: rows of ordinary lilacs along the lawn, behind which there were avenues of lime trees. The lawn was decorated with colorful flower beds. There were four red brick pylons decorated with rubble stone at the entrance. Such a layout, which visually enlarges the space, is unique for Belarus, however, unfortunately, the original landscape solution has not been fully preserved.

The front part of the park was more traditional, with a circular shape, the symmetry of which was emphasized by two blue fir trees. One majestic tree with a height of more than twenty meters and an age of more than a hundred years has survived to this day. There were orchards to the west of the estate.

Today in Gorodets you can see the main features of the park's composition. The palace has been restored. The building is partially used by a local institution. An outbuilding, a chapel, a brewery, an entrance gate, a blacksmith shop, a pigsty and other outbuildings made of rubble stone have been preserved on the estate.

Unfortunately, the buildings, although they look good, are gradually decaying.

The Plyater Manor in Gorodets is not just a historical monument, it is a living testimony of the era, a reflection of the tastes and hobbies of the family, which left a noticeable mark in the history of Belarus.

By visiting the Plyater manor in Gorodets, you will have the opportunity to touch the past, enjoy the beauty of architecture and nature, and feel the connection of time.
