The building of the former Zemstvo hospital in Gomel is an important architectural monument included in the list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus.

Princess Irina Ivanovna Paskevich financed the construction of the former Zemstvo hospital. The building was erected deep in the courtyard on a steep riverbank. It has distinctive architectural features. Its first ground floor is treated with horizontal rustication. The window openings of the second and third floors are decorated with sandalwood. In general, the building has a symmetrical composition, which is emphasized by two side risalites. The central cylindrical volume, projecting in front of the facade in the form of a bay window, ends with a cornice and a figured pediment with the inscription "Hospital".

The hospital received its first patients in 1915. After 1919, it was renamed the 1st Soviet Hospital, and after the typhus epidemic in 1921, it was redesignated the 1st Soviet Infectious Diseases Hospital.

After the Great Patriotic War, the institution functioned as a regional hospital. Currently, the Gomel City Clinical Emergency Hospital is located in this building.

The building is included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus, which underlines its importance and historical value for the region.
