The only monument to the Easter Egg in Belarus.

Easter egg monuments have been erected in Russia, Canada, and many in Ukraine. In Soligorsk there is a monument to the egg as a symbol of a food product.

The monument to the egg, the symbol of the Christian faith, is the only one located in this interesting and beautiful place. The estate often organizes exciting sightseeing tours related to Easter traditions. The tour program includes visits to the church in Dunilovichi, the Holy Dormition Church in the village of Mankovichi, St. Nicholas Cathedral in Postavy, the Church of St. Anthony of Padua. Here you can listen to festive chants, take part in games related to the Easter traditions of "Cue balls", "Rolling eggs down the hill". Tourists are offered cakes and Easter eggs as treats. The highlight of the holiday is a visit to the only monument in Belarus. The Easter egg.

The initiator of the monument's creation was Egor Shushkevich, director of the local tourist services center. The idea was born during the preparation of the excursion tour "Easter traditions of the Postavsky Lake district". This unique route tells about the peculiarities of the feast of the Resurrection of Christ in the Homeland, where Catholics and Orthodox Christians lived and live side by side in peace and harmony, where the traditions of the West and the East are closely intertwined. The opening of the monument was chosen taking into account these traditions. The opening day of the monument on April 24, 2011 coincided with the celebration of Easter by representatives of both faiths. Catholics and Orthodox can safely consider this monument their own. The location of the monument was not chosen by chance: the monument is located away from the mythological path with its characters in order to emphasize the distance between the pagan traditions of our distant ancestors and Christian culture and religion.

The two-meter-high composition seemed to come off the Easter table. Local artist and sculptor Ruslan Pogzhukis installed a ladle on a pedestal, covered it with a woven towel and placed in the center the main symbol of Easter - a painted egg. The traditional color of Easter eggs is red in its various shades, but the sculptor took as a basis the painting of the egg with a Belarusian ornament (not a Christian symbol, but a pagan one).

The community has its own historical peculiarities concerning rituals and traditions of folk art. The sculptor studied the rich cultural heritage of the region and based his sculpture on the embroidery of the Postavsky craftsmen from the House of Crafts "Stary Mlyn" - the sign of the Sun. He painted it in the form of flower petals, and as it turned out, it was the Sun sign that Belarusians painted on Easter eggs.

For 14 years now, Postavians and tourists have been pleased with this unique monument. Everyone sincerely believes that this egg is magical. Each guest of Zyuzi and Grandpa Bai can touch the egg, make a wish and hope that it will come true. This has become a tradition of the fabulous manor, located in the forest on the shore of Lake Beloe, where guests are always welcome.
