Description

In the historical center of Novogrudok, near the castle, there is a monument to the brilliant poet Adam Mickiewicz (1798-1855). The author is the famous Belarusian artist and sculptor Valerian Yanushkevich. The monument is made of bronze with a height of more than three meters and is mounted on a boulder. It is no coincidence that the monument is located at this place, as the poet's house, the school where Mickiewicz studied, the church where he was baptized, and Adam Mickiewicz's Burial Mound are nearby.

Novogrudok. Monument to Adam Mickiewicz.

If you travel through the historical center of ancient Novogrudok, you will definitely come to the Castle and Adam Mickiewicz Burial Mound. At the entrance to the castle on the left side stands a majestic monument to the outstanding Belarusian and Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz (1798-1855).

It is no coincidence that the monument was erected here, because here every building and every path is associated with the poet. Nearby, near the castle, there is the Church where Adam was baptized, the Dominican school on the square, where the poet studied, and the house near the square in the park, where Mickiewicz spent his childhood and adolescence. And near the castle there is a road to the Adam Mickiewicz Mound, which was created at the beginning of the 20th century during the time of the Polish state.

The monument was inaugurated in September 1992 with the participation of numerous guests, residents of the city and distinguished guests. These days, an international holiday was held in Ancient Novogrudok in honor of the poet.

The sculptor of this work of art is the famous Belarusian artist and sculptor Valerian Iosifovich Yanushkevich. The sculpture is mounted on a huge boulder. The sculpture is made of bronze and is more than three meters high.
