Bobruisk Regional Museum of Local Lore: the history of the Bobruisk region since ancient times.
The Bobruisk Regional Museum of Local Lore was founded in 1990.
Today, its visitors can get acquainted with the archaeological finds discovered in the district, an ethnographic exposition reflecting the life and traditions of the Belarusian village of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a rich collection of materials from the Great Patriotic War, as well as stands dedicated to famous personalities who glorified Bobruisk region.
The museum occupies a building with a total area of 264 sq.m. and includes three permanent exhibitions.
The main purpose of the museum is to popularize the historical heritage of the Bobruisk region, to foster patriotism and citizenship among the younger generation. The halls feature artifacts illustrating the primitive system, materials about the life and work of prominent natives of the region, such as V.I. Dunin-Martsinkevich, the founder of Belarusian drama, representatives of the Bobruisk branch of A.S. Pushkin's descendants, the works of poet M. Avramchik and writer A. Adamovich.
The best works of local craftsmen are on display in the exhibition halls.
The museum also offers guided tours, museum and thematic classes, and lectures. Among the thematic excursions: "Literary Bobruisk region", "The Great Patriotic War...", "Ethnography of Bobruisk region". Souvenirs made by artisans of the Bobruisk region can be purchased at the museum.
A visit to Sychkovo is not only an introduction to the museum's exhibits, but also an opportunity to honor the memory of the heroes of the Kurgan of Glory memorial complex and see the mock-up of the bunker where M. Seleznev performed his feat in the summer of 1944.
