Memorial complex in Sychkovo: memory of heroes.

The memorial greets travelers passing along the M5 highway with the majestic Gates of Glory.

This complex was created in stages. The mound was filled in 1967, and earth collected from 70 mass graves in the Bobruisk region was placed at its base. In 1986, a sculptural composition of two soldiers and six steles dedicated to the Heroes of the Soviet Union who were born in these parts appeared.

Guns are installed at the entrance, reminiscent of the terrible days of battles. The inscription on the gate, which reads "No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten," serves as an eternal reminder of the price of Victory.

An alley leads deep into the complex, along which there are commemorative plaques with the names of Heroes of the Soviet Union, whose lives are connected with the Bobruisk region. They are an example of the courage and dedication shown in the battles of the Bobruisk operation.

The central place is occupied by the Mound of Glory, at the base of which the earth from the mass graves rests. Next to the mound stands a sculptural composition and steles perpetuating the memory of the heroes of the countrymen.

Not far from the memorial is the Bobruisk Regional Museum of Local Lore and a bunker monument dedicated to Mikhail Seleznev, as well as a mass grave where the remains of hundreds of soldiers rest. All these objects are woven into a single complex that preserves the memory of the heroism and tragedy of the war.
