Zhuprany. Church of Saints Peter and Paul.

Zhuprany is known in Belarus as the village where the famous Belarusian poet Frantisek Bogushevich (1840-1900) is buried. The majestic neo-Gothic Church of Sts. Peter and Paul rises above the agro-town as an architectural dominant.

The first Catholic parish in Zhuprany was founded in the 16th century. At first, a wooden church was built. At that time, the town belonged to the Radziwill magnates, and later the church was adapted for a Protestant church. The next owners of Zhuprany were the Czapskis. In 1853, Count Adam Czapski founded a brick Catholic church, consecrated in 1875. In April 1900, the church hosted a farewell to the poet F. Bogushevich, who was buried next to the church.

The church is built in the neo-Gothic style. The building is brick, rectangular in plan. The interior is divided into three naves. The church has no apse. The main facade is decorated with a three-tiered tower. The walls of the church are decorated with rubble stone decor. The combination of red brick and rubble stone led to the creation of an openwork unusual pattern along the perimeter of the entire church. The interior is decorated with paintings. A memorial sign dedicated to the poet F. Bogushevich was installed.

Behind the church is the brick house of the parish priest (plebania). To the left of the church is the local cemetery, where the poet František Bogushevich is buried. The F. Bogushevich House Museum is located in the neighboring village of Kushlyany.
