Description

How to go from Lida to Voronovo, there are 2 villages of Zhirmuny. The first small village Zhirmuny is to the left of the highway, when you arrive at the village of Bolshoe Selo. Turn left and drive to the end of Zhirmuny and arrive at the majestic stone ruins.

These are the remains of the Radziwills manor of the 18th century. 2 outhouses, gates, outbuildings and a park were built here. Until our time, the gate and the outhouse have remained. The buildings are abandoned.
If you drive along the highway to the next village of Zhirmuny, you will see a wooden church there, which was financed by the Radziwills in the 18th century. The church is functioning.

Zhirmuny. Radziwill Manor.

Near the town of Zhirmuny there are the remains of the estate of the magnates of the Radziwills.

At first, Zhirmuny belonged to the Zavish family. In 1710, Barbara Zawisza married Nikolai Faustin Radziwill and the estate passed to the Radziwills as a dowry. The next owner was their son Stanislav Radziwill (1722-1787), a statesman and military figure of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Lieutenant General. Together with his wife Karolina from the Poteyev family, he financed the construction of a Catholic church in the village of Zhirmuny in search of the Holy Cross, which has survived to our time.

In the second half of the 18th century, Stanislav Radziwill built a palace and park complex. Stone entrance gates and two columns in the classical style were erected. Outbuildings and a park have been planted. The southeastern outhouse, which was occupied by the Radziwills themselves, was beautifully decorated with interiors. In the second outhouse from the north-western part, the servants of the magnates lived. And the palace itself did not begin to be built because of the death of Prince Radziwill.

During the First World War, the manor was looted. Buildings were also severely damaged in 1939 during the transition of these lands from Poland to Soviet Belarus.

To our time, there are stone gates and a part of the outhouse, on the left side of the gate, where the Radziwills lived, are preserved. The right outhouse was almost completely destroyed, where there was a chapel, a library, a kitchen and a greenhouse. There are some old trees from the park. And a little further there were the remains of a stone chapel in the form of a column. The buildings are in a state of disrepair.
