Description

The city of Zheludok has long been known for its palace of the Tyzenhaus family, which has survived to this day in a neglected state, and the palace of the princes Svyatopolk-Chetvertinsky. Several dozen outbuildings of historical and aesthetic value were built around the palace. Most of these buildings have survived to this day in good condition. To see them, you need to drive past the estate park and lake. Immediately behind the lake, on the right and left, you will see wooden and brick buildings. Some of them are still used for their intended purpose.

Zheludok. Outbuildings.

When tourists visit the town of Zheludok, they first of all look at the palace with the park and the church. And they forget that there are still several dozen old outbuildings in the village. These buildings are different in time of construction, architecture and purpose. Most of them are located in an open space in a field not far from the palace and park complex of Svyatopolk-Chetvertinsky.

Once you pass the park on the right side and turn left, go behind the lake, and right behind the dam you will see beautiful buildings of different sizes and times of construction. These are buildings left over from the estate, some of which are still used by the local collective farm. There are stables, barns, a brewery and other premises. Several buildings are already in disrepair. But most of them are still intact. Some buildings were decorated, and even resemble small estate palaces. And the glacier, which has a round shape in plan, is located in the village itself among modern residential buildings. It is worth asking local residents about this unusual building, and they will be happy to tell you local stories and legends about it.
