Zheleznitsa. Volsky's Tomb Chapel.
In the Baranovichi district there is a place called Zheleznitsa, where a stone tomb chapel of the Volsky family has been preserved in the local cemetery.
The place has been known since the 15th century, since the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. At first it belonged to Kezgails, and then to the Chodkiewicz magnate family. Then, in the 17th century, Komarovsky and Kashitsy were the owners here.
After the second partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the village was part of the Russian Empire and was part of the Novogrudok district of the Minsk province.
In 1838, the wooden Church of the Intercession was built in the style of wooden folk architecture and was covered with shingles. The temple burned down during the Great Patriotic War. In 2006, a new stone chapel was erected on the site of the destroyed church.
The chapel-tomb of the Volsky family is located in the east of the village in the old Catholic cemetery. The building was built in the first half of the 19th century. The temple was created in the classical style. It has a rectangle in the plan. Covered gable roof. The facade is decorated with a four-column Doric portico, which is completed with a triangular pediment.
The interior features an altar with six pilasters and stucco decorative garlands. There is a triangular pediment above the altar. The temple has a crypt with burials. The temple is in a state of disrepair. The crypt has been looted.
