Zhdanovichi. Vasil Bykov's cottage Museum.

The museum's special feature is its authenticity and the preserved furnishings that were here during the writer's lifetime. 

There is a kitchen, a living room and a garage in the cottage building. On the second floor there is a balustrade, an office and a bedroom of Vasil Vladimirovich, as well as an attic. The interior retains the spirit of the 1980s and 1990s: modest furniture, a dining set, a buffet and clapboard walls.

Everything here has remained the same as it was during the writer's lifetime. There is a lamp, a typewriter and a coffee cup in the study, paints and brushes in the attic, and a jacket hangs on a chair, as if the owner is about to return.

Back in 1993, Vasily Bykov himself donated more than 1,000 valuable exhibits to the museum. In 2012, his widow, Irina Mikhailovna, supplemented the collection with items from the writer's summer cottage and Minsk apartment, which amounted to more than 1,600 items.

Visitors can feel the atmosphere of this important place for Belarusians, touch the birch trees that remember Bykov.

Every year on June 19 and 22, on the birthdays and deaths of the writer, the museum hosts "Bykov Days", which have become a tradition of honoring his memory.

The museum is open from May to September.
