St. George's Church in Zaluzhye.
The church in the village of Zaluzhye was built in the 18th century and resembled St. Michael's Church in Slutsk, which has survived to this day. This church was one of the first in Belarus to be annexed from the union to Orthodoxy in 1795.
Unfortunately, the Zaluzhskaya shrine did not escape destruction: the architect, who visited it in 1872, declared that the building was unsuitable for restoration.
As a result, construction of a new wooden church began next to the outdated church, which was consecrated in 1905 in the name of St. George the Victorious.
However, the service did not last long: in the 1930s, the priest was arrested, and the church was turned into a club, where a stage was built in place of the altar. Until 1991, the temple building was used as a village club.
In the 1990s, the restoration process of the church in Zaluzhye was initiated. The roof and bell tower were repaired, and a house for the rector was built.
In 2013, major repairs took place, restoration work was completed, and now the temple serves as an ornament to the village and the entire district.
The temple is unique: there are 2 churches in one building: the large church of St. George the Victor, and the small church of St. Lawrence of Turov.
