Description

The Kovalevshchyna estate in the Zadvorye is a historical monument dating back to the 19th century. Unfortunately, the archives do not contain detailed information about the time of the construction of individual buildings of the estate. One of the most important buildings is the manor house in the classical style, built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is currently in an abandoned state.

The ruins of a manor house in the classical style, built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Once upon a time, the village of Zadvorye, located next to Stolbtsy, was a large tract of Kovalevshchyna, known since the 16th century. Today there is a small abandoned Chulovsky manor. The most striking and notable building is a one-story manor house, designed in the classical style and built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The building is quite sturdy, with thick walls and a solid basement. Its architectural features include flat pilasters and a porch supported by four columns that form an elegant portico. The house is quite simple, in many noble estates of Belarus such houses were a wing for servants.

In addition to the manor house, fragments of the park and some outbuildings have been preserved on the estate, which also testify to the former greatness of this place. Unfortunately, these buildings are abandoned and already look very unsatisfactory.

In Soviet times, a boarding school operated in the building of the manor house in the Backyard since 1950, which closed in 2001. During this period, two-storey and three-storey buildings were erected here. Today, the buildings are partially mothballed.

This estate and its surroundings are of interest to historians and tourists who want to learn more about the cultural heritage of the region.
