Yundily. The Church of Peter and Paul.

In the Pruzhany district, as you drive from Ruzhany to Slonim, there is a right turn on the highway to the village of Yundily.

Beyond the village to the south, a few hundred meters away, there is a small wooden church of Peter and Paul in the woods.

Researchers believe that the name of the place comes from the Baltic word. There is a mass grave of Soviet soldiers in the village itself. And between Yundily and the small village of Bolty is the Peter and Paul Orthodox Church.

The temple was built in the 19th century in the traditions of the Belarusian wooden Polesie school. The temple consists of two main parts: a prayer hall and a triangular apse. A small vestibule is attached to the main facade. There are two rectangular windows in the side walls. In front of the church there is an elevated two-tiered bell tower, which is supported by four pillars.

Near the church there is a unique monument of nature and history – it is a trace stone.

Since ancient times in Belarus, such stones have been endowed with superpowers and believed in their divine origin. According to legend, this church was built here precisely because of this footprint stone, which is believed to have left the imprint of the foot of the Virgin Herself. And there is also a folk sign that the water from the rain that collects in the imprint on the trace has medicinal and healing qualities and it can cure various diseases. For example, if you wash your eyes, the eye disease will go away.
