The Sulistrovsky Estate of the mid-19th century is a fascinating historical and architectural object of interest to both historians and ordinary tourists.
The estate in Yakhimovshchina arose in the middle of the 19th century and belonged to such families as Sulistrovsky, Lyubansky and Sventorzhetsky.
Currently, the Yakhimovshchina distillery is located on its territory. The old manor complex includes a park, brick and wooden houses, as well as a distillery and other outbuildings. The years of the national poet of Belarus Yanka Kupala, who worked as an assistant distiller for Alexander Lyubansky in 1906-1907, passed here. It is known that it was in this area that he prepared his first collection, Zhaleika.
The preserved brick house from 1897, which was an outbuilding, is two-storeyed and made in the neoclassical style, now occupied by the board of the state farm.
The wooden house on a rubble foundation, built in 1900, became the residence of the young Kupala and is also immortalized by a memorial plaque. This house houses a branch of the Yanka Kupala Literary Museum, opened in 2001 with an exhibition featuring themes of his work and life, and has become the fourth such institution in the country.
The distillery, built in 1898, is a monument of industrial architecture of the late 19th century.
In 1959, a commemorative plaque was installed on the walls of the factory, telling about the life of the great Belarusian writer, which contributed to the restoration of the estate at the end of the 20th century.
Today there is a museum of Belarusian culture here. Tourists can see the preserved house, two wooden barns and a workshop. They are a testament to peasant life. Unfortunately, the manor house was destroyed during the Second World War.
Overall, this is an interesting and entertaining place worth visiting. There is an excellent museum of the great poet here. It is advisable to take a tour of the estate to get even more information and enjoy the most interesting new knowledge.
