Vysokoe. Chapel of St. Barbara.
There are several Catholic and Orthodox shrines in the town of Vysokoe, which are of great historical value. There is a church, a church, a chapel, a Catholic cemetery and the building of the former Catholic monastery of the Bonifrats, as well as a chapel.
The Chapel of St. Barbara was built on the northwestern outskirts of the town of Vysokoe. The temple was built in the Baroque style. The first wooden Catholic church was funded by the Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas in the 15th century. It is believed by researchers that this chapel was built on the site of that first church. The temple was built in 1772. It is likely that the architect of the temple is the same as the Church of the Holy Trinity in the town of Volchin, which is located near Vysokoe. When the church in Volchyna was closed in 1869 after the suppression of the anti-Russian uprising, the church belongings were moved to the chapel of St. Barbara.
The chapel has a central centric building. In terms of the figure of an octagon. The sides of the building have flat niches and windows. The interior walls are decorated with stucco ornaments depicting plants and knight's armor. There are choirs above the entrance. In Soviet times, the chapel was abandoned. But in the 1990s, repairs were carried out. The chapel is in operation.
