Voroncha. St. Anne's Church.
The Catholic Church of St. Anna is located in the center of the village of Voroncha, Korelichi district. The first wooden church was built in the middle of the 18th century at the expense of the Poniatowskys. The building was double-towered and partly built of wood. There were 7 altars in the interior. The church belonged to the Catholic Jesuit Order, for which a house was built here.
In the 1780s - early 19th century, a new stone church was built with the funding of local landowner Jozef Neselovsky. The temple was part of the Neselovsky estate. After his death, Neselovsky was buried in the crypt of the church. In the temple, there is a plaque with the sponsor's coat of arms in the wall. The interior of the temple was painted. There were several altars.
The church is associated with the lives of many prominent figures in Belarus, for example, the poet Jan Chechot (1796-1847), a classic of Belarusian literature, was baptized here, and Marilya Vereshchaka, the beloved of the brilliant poet Adam Mickiewicz, was baptized here.
In Soviet times, the shrine was closed. The church was consecrated again in 1995.
A park area has been preserved around the church, which was created during the time of Neselovskys. There are burials of the Bulgak family near the church.
