Voistom. The Iron Age Hillfort.

There are several monuments of architecture and antiquity in the village of Voistom in the Smorgon district. On the way from the village of Voistom to the village of Katrinovo to the southwest, there is an archaeological monument of the Iron Age settlement on the right side of the road. The settlement is located 1.5 kilometers away near the road.

The settlement consists of an elevated platform of 5-6 meters, with a diameter of 50 meters. The monument was studied by Fyodor Pokrovsky (1871-1942), Georgy Shtykhov (1927-2018) and Vladimir Golubovich (1908-1962).

The cultural layer is 1.3 meters. Many ceramic products were found: ceramics of the VIIIth century BC and smooth-walled ceramics of the VIIIth-VIIIth century AD, belonging to the Banzer culture.

 The Banzer culture is an archaeological culture of tribes that lived in the Upper Dnieper, Upper Neman, Middle and Upper Dvina in the 5th - 13th centuries. The population of this culture was engaged in cattle breeding and agriculture.

 Around the settlement there is a settlement dating back to the same period. The area of the monument is about three hectares.
