Vitebsk. Church of St. Barbara.
Already in 1785, the first brick church was built on the Catholic cemetery on the ancient route Vitsebsk - Haradok. Then a brick chapel and a wooden house for the priest - the rectory - were built nearby. Already in 1884, the Catholic shrine was significantly rebuilt according to the project of the engineer V. Piatrowski. And the church acquired a modern appearance: a three-nave basilica with two multi-tiered towers. The territory of the church and the cemetery was surrounded by a brick fence with a three-span gate. The facade and towers of the church are decorated with red brick decor: cornices with a toothed belt, columns, niches, an arcature belt, pilasters and others. On the main facade there is an arched portal with a triangular pediment above which there are three arched niches. Two-story towers are topped with tall tents. On the towers, the first tier is four-sided, which is pierced with three-arched openings, and the second tier is hexagonal. The interior of the church is divided into three naves. And the naves are covered with cylindrical vaults. During the war, the church and the fence were partially destroyed. But in the early 1990s, the church was restored, an organ was installed, and now the Catholic shrine is functioning.
