The column of the Mother of God in the village of Vistychi.
Erected in the second half of the XVIII century, the column of the Virgin Mary in Vistychi, according to the established opinion, owes its origin to the famous writer and politician Julian Nemtsevich. Legend has it that in childhood he suffered a serious illness. His parents turned to the icon of the Mother of God of Vistychi, offering prayers for their son's recovery. The prayers were answered, and as a sign of gratitude for the healing of their beloved son, the parents erected this column, which was crowned with a marble image of the Virgin Mary until 1945.
Until 1945, the column was crowned with a marble figure of the Mother of God, representing faith, salvation and the Nemtsevich family. However, in the post-war years, the sculpture was barbarously thrown from its pedestal into the Lesnaya River.
Today, locals recall the stories of divers who claimed a few years ago that they had seen this statue at the bottom of the river, resting in a muddy current.
On a plaque near the column, travelers read the inscription: "A symbol of the pride and greatness of the owners of these lands. It has historical, architectural and artistic value. It is protected by the state."
