The Empire-style Church of St. Alexander Nevsky.
The temple is located on the western outskirts of the agro-town and is surrounded by rubble fencing, which gives it a special charm and security. The church is made in the Empire style, which is characterized by strict forms, symmetry and majestic proportions. This style was popular in the early 19th century and reflects the pursuit of classical ideals.
The main plan of the building is rectangular, has a gable roof. The main facade is decorated with six columns with a 3-cornered pediment. In the interior of the temple there are icons of the 19th century, one of which is the "Prophet Elijah", presented to the temple by the villagers in 1893.
In 1930, they wanted to destroy the temple. However, the parishioners managed to defend the church. Only the bell tower was demolished, and soon the locals rebuilt it.
During the Soviet years, the temple was not closed. In the 2000s, the church underwent major repairs and the iconostasis was restored.
The Church of St. Alexander Nevsky is an important monument of architecture and culture of the region. It not only serves as a place for worship, but is also an object of historical and cultural heritage, attracting the attention of both locals and tourists.
The church has a Sunday school and the Orthodox military-patriotic club "Belaya Rus".
The Church of St. Alexander Nevsky in Vertelishki is not only a religious center, but also a significant architectural object that reflects the rich history and culture of Belarus.
