Description
A stone Catholic chapel of the Mother of God Ostrobramskaya was built in the center of the village of Uzhanka, Nesvizh district. The temple was built in the 16th century during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The monument has been preserved to our time in an authentic form, but, unfortunately, a few years ago the chapel was lined with modern red and white bricks. Now the monument looks like a modern building, not an ancient temple. The chapel has the shape of a rectangle in the plan.

Between Nesvizh and Mir Castle there is a small village of Uzhanka, where there is an ancient chapel. The temple was built in the 16th century and consecrated in honor of Our Lady of Ostrobram. Uzhanka is located near the town of Gorodeya.
Uzhanka was first mentioned in historical sources during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1560, as the property of Prince Nicholas Radziwill the Black. Then, in 1584, Prince Nicholas Christopher Radziwill handed over the place to the Catholic Jesuit Order. At that time, Uzhanka was part of the Novogrudok voivodeship.
After the second partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as part of the Russian Empire. At that time there were two towns: Bolshaya and Malaya Uzhanka. In the 19th century, the village was the estate of Thomas Korbut and Alexander Boltut. There was a Catholic chapel at the manor.
During the First World War in 1918, the town was occupied by German troops. After the Riga Peace of 1921 to 1939, under the rule of the Polish state. It was part of the Gorodeisk gmina of Nesvizh county, Novogrudok Voivodeship. Since 1939, it has been a part of Soviet Belarus.
