Velikaya Lipa. Manor of the Obukhovichs.

The family of Obukhovich owned the Velikaya Lipa estate for 400 years.

The first owner of the manor in the 16th century was Philip Obukhovich, a public and political figure, poet. This manor was inherited by the Obukhoviches only through the male line. The manor has been partially preserved. From the road, you will be greeted by a front yard with an entrance gate, just like in the old days of the owners. A brick wing, a barn and an office have also been preserved. There was still a brick one-story palace and a park. Only a few trees remain from the park. But the entrance gate will pleasantly surprise you. If you go through it, you may or may not see 2 knights. The fact is that the gate has 2 side doors above which are knights: in armor and with feathers - everything as it should be. There was a stable in the side wings of the gate. If you take a picture with the knights, you will go through the gate to the yard, where you will see several outbuildings. A part of the 17th century earthen rampart has been preserved. And at the very beginning of the 19th century, the estate was significantly rebuilt. Defensive ramparts were demolished and a landscape park was planted. A new palace in the style of classicism and farm buildings were built. At the beginning of the 20th century, the buildings were repaired and rebuilt. Opposite the gate was the palace. On the left and on the right, farm buildings have been preserved. Sviran is on the left, and the office is on the right. The office is a two-story brick building that housed the archive, servants' quarters, and the library. You can enter the office in the basement if you go around the building from the end. The Obukhovich estate is located on a hill and other villages and settlements can be seen in the distance. On the left side, you can see a hill - this is a cemetery, on which rises a church with a bell tower and several chapels. You should also visit there, to these ancient burials, after inspecting the Obukhovich's manor.
