Tupalshchyna. The grave of Vincent-Dunin-Marcinkevich.

Between the villages of Kyivets and Padnevichi, as you drive from Rakov to Ivenets, there is a place Tupalshchyna, where the classic of Belarusian literature Vincent Dunin–Marcinkevich (1808-1884) is buried on a hill among the old cemetery. It is very easy to find the writer's grave. It is necessary to go through the cemetery to the highest elevation, where a stone chapel was built – the tomb of the local Zhabrovsky nobility. It was in this chapel that the funeral service was held for the Belarusian writer, whose grave is located on the left side of the building.

V. Dunin-Marcinkevich was born in the Panyushkovichi village near Bobruisk. He graduated from school in Bobruisk, and then studied at the university. He worked as an official in Minsk.

In 1840, he purchased a Lyutsinka folwark near the town of Pershai and lived in Minsk, then in his folwark. In his works he described the ethnographic and everyday features of the Belarusian peasants, for example in the work "Lyutsinka, or the Swedes in Lithuania". He was engaged in journalism. After the anti-Russian uprising of 1863-1864, he spent some time in Minsk in prison under investigation. After his release from prison, he lived in the Lyutsinka folwark under police supervision without the right to leave. But even in such conditions, he continued his writing and social activities. He opened a school here, wrote the comedy "Pinsk Gentry", staged performances. V. Dunin-Marcinkevich died in his Lyutsinka folwark on December 17, 1884.

In 1977, a monument was erected in Tupalshchyna - a bronze bust on the grave of the writer.
