Tupalshchyna. The chapel-tomb of the Zhabrovskys.

On the Rakov-Ivenets highway between the villages of Kyivets and Padnevichi there is a place called Tupalshchyna. On the right side of the highway on the hill you will see the old cemetery where the stone chapel-tomb of the Zhabrovskys was built.

The chapel was built in 1852 and representatives of this noble family were buried here, whose estate was located in the town of Tupalshchyna. After the anti-Russian uprising of 1863-1864, the Zhabrovskys fell into disgrace and their property was confiscated. The village of Tupalshchyna itself disappeared already in the post-war period and only this cemetery with a chapel remains of the estate with the village.

It was in this chapel that the funeral service was held for the classic of Belarusian literature Vincent Dunin – Marcinkevich (1808-1884), whose grave is located to the left of the entrance near the temple.

The temple was built in the Neo-Gothic style. The building is very compact and harmonious. It is built of rubble stone. It consists of two main parts: the bell tower, which protrudes half of its volume from the prayer hall. The tower is four-tiered, covered with a four-pitched roof. The entrance portal and window openings have a pointed end. The prayer hall is covered with a gable roof. A signature is built over the altar part. The interior has choirs and a two-tiered altar.

There are several other chapels and old graves on the territory of the cemetery.
