St. Nicholas Church in the village of Trostino is an important spiritual and historical heritage of the Khotim region.

In the past, two churches operated in the village of Trostino. Currently, the St. Nicholas Church, built in 1864, operates in the village of Trostino. The church was originally wooden, but was destroyed by fire. The village burned three times, and the church had to be rebuilt. After another fire, the church was restored, but in stone. The construction was timed to coincide with the abolition of serfdom, the exact date is not mentioned. The church was built on donations from parishioners. Before the revolution, Vasily Andreevich Ponomarev was a priest, who also had a two-class theological school. After the beginning of the period of atheism, he left.

In 1938, the church was almost completely destroyed. In 1954, the 'Red Sickle' collective farm restored the church, making a roof, and used it as a grain storage facility where grain was stored for a long time. After that, the village club was located in the church building until 1986.

In the summer of 1990, an agreement was signed on the restoration of the church. Funds for the restoration were allocated by the district Council, and finally, in the late 90s of the 20th century, the church was restored. Recovery was slow. Alexander Nikolaevich Mikutin, a local resident, who has been appointed a church elder since 1990, played a major role in the restoration work.

In 1993, the rector of St. Nicholas Church, Father Laurentius, assembled a team of local residents to carry out restoration work, and the church was transformed and given a new lease of life.

Today, St. Nicholas Church is an important spiritual and historical heritage of the Khotim region.
