Description
In the village of Trokeniki, Ostrovets district, the manor house has been preserved, in which the famous artist and art critic Marian Bogush–Shishka (1901 - 1995) was born. The estate was built at the turn of the 19th – 20th century. The master's house is a one-story stone house in the neo-Baroque style. There are also stone utility buildings and a park. There used to be a collective farm board in the house, but now there is a local library.

Trokeniki. Bogush-Shishka Manor.
In the Ostrovets district, in the village of Trokeniki, the Bogush-Shishka family estate has been preserved. The place is located next to the Vilnius – Polotsk highway. The estate was built at the turn of the 19th – 20th centuries in the neo-Baroque style. The last owner of the estate is the artist Maryan Bogush-Shishka.
During the Soviet Union, the manor house housed the board of the local collective farm. There is a local library here now. To this day, a house, an outbuilding, a stable and a small park have been preserved from the estate. The house in the manor was built in the early 20th century. The building is stone, one-story, rectangular in plan. There is an attic. A twisted metal staircase has been preserved in the interior.
The famous artist, writer, and art critic Marian Bogush-Shishka (1901 – 1995) was born in this estate in 1901. During the First World War, the family moved to Vilnius, where Marian studied at the gymnasium. He served in the Polish army. After the war, he studied at Vilnius University, where he was mentored by the famous Belarusian and Polish artist Ferdinand Ruschits. He continued his studies in Krakow at the Academy of Art. He lived and worked in the city of Kobrin, where he taught mathematics. In 1939, during the war, he was drafted into the army. He was captured.
After the war, he lived in Italy and Britain. Participated in many art exhibitions all over the world. His book "About Art" was published in London in 1982. He died at the age of 94 in 1995.
