Telekhany. Holy Trinity Church.

Among the swamps and forests in the Ivatsevichi district is the town of Telekhany. There are several natural and historical monuments and the unique Oginsky Canal. Above the village stands the wooden Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, which was built in the early 20th century during the time of the Polish state.

For the first time in documents, Telehans are found in the 16th century during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. In the 18th century, the Oginsky magnates were the owners of these places. It was Mikhail Kazimir Oginsky who built the first Orthodox church here. Although, there is a possibility that church belonged first to the Uniates, and during the time of the Russian Empire it passed to the Orthodox believers. During the First World War in 1915, the church was destroyed by fire. For some time, the Orthodox parish remained without a temple.

In 1932, priest John Strukovsky was appointed to Telekhany, and vigorous work began on the construction of a new church. A committee was set up to deal directly with the construction. Donations were collected from parishioners and other sponsors, including from abroad. The project of the building was developed by an engineer from the city of Kobrin Kotovich. In the autumn of 1933, the solemn laying of the foundation stone of the church took place. In 1935, the church was consecrated. The main shrine was the icon of the Mother of God of Odigitria of the 18th century.

The church was damaged during the war. In 1959, the renovation was completed. In recent years, more repairs have been carried out after the collapse of the USSR. The church is active.
