Svoyatichi. The Church of St. George.

The massive church of St. George is made in the classical style. It is built of stone, has an atypical elongated shape, which makes it noticeable in the architectural landscape of its relatives. The church was built for local Catholics and since its foundation it has served as the center of the spiritual life of the community. The church has repeatedly experienced various historical events, including wars and political changes that affected its condition and the fate of the parish.

After the uprising of 1863, the church was slightly rebuilt and transferred to the Orthodox Church, as evidenced by the bulbous domes in photographs of the church at that time. During the First World War, a fire broke out in the church building.

In the early 1920s, the church was returned to the Catholic Church, was restored after a fire, was rebuilt again and the onion domes were dismantled.

 After the Second World War, as well as in the second half of the 20th century and in Soviet times, the Church of St. George was closed and not used until 1990. Then it was returned to the parish and work was carried out on the restoration and restoration of the church, it was reopened to the parishioners.

Today, the Church of St. George, being a restored and functioning temple, attracts believers and pilgrims. It is an architectural monument of the 19th century, a cultural and historical value and an interesting tourist attraction of the area.

The interior of the church is simple, but at the same time majestic, creating an atmosphere of peace and deep spirituality.

A bell tower of a later period of construction has been preserved in front of the entrance to the church.

The Church of St. George in Svoyatichi is not only a religious object, but also an architectural and historical monument that testifies to the cultural life of the region. Its preservation and restoration are of great importance for future generations, being an important part of the heritage of Belarus.
