Svisloch. Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

There is a place called Svisloch in the Grodno region. There is an old manor house with a park, a 19th-century Orthodox church and a new Catholic church.

The place was first mentioned in historical sources since the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1518, when King Sigismund I 'the Old' pledged Svisloch to Henry Gromyko for 600 grosh.

The next owners of Svisloch were the Kerdei family. In 1690, Nikolai Tarlo was the boss here. In 1754, the Romerov family began to own the estate. During the time of the Russian Empire, from the first half of the 19th century, it belonged to the Puslovsky family.

A stone Catholic church was erected in the local cemetery in the 19th century.

During the Great Patriotic War, the building was severely damaged. The shrine was handed over to Orthodox believers and restored in 1997. 

The church is a Renaissance architectural monument with elements of the retrospective Russian style. In plan, the building has a rectangular shape, covered with a gable roof. A three-tiered eight-on-four bell tower is built above the vestibule. The tower is completed with a high hipped faceted roof. An onion dome is built over the main volume on a faceted drum.
