Memorial Museum of Ya.Kolas
Akinchitsy is a memorial estate, which was originally a dungeon, and then turned into a village. In 1977, by the decision of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, this place was incorporated into the city of Stolbtsy.
The origin of the name is connected with the surname of the noble Akinchitsa, who received this dungeon as a gift from Prince Radziwill.
Akinchitsy became the first place of service of Michal Mickiewicz, the father of the famous poet, who lived here with his family from April 1, 1881 to April 1, 1883.
In 1982, in honor of the centenary of the birth of Yakub Kolas, the manor complex was restored, including a forester's house with a shingle roof, a barn with a stable and a well with a crane. An old road known as the Catherine Highway has been preserved next to the storeroom. The interiors were recreated based on the memories of people close to the poet and local residents.
The memorial estate presents exhibits reflecting the way of life of the Mickiewicz family and peasant life at the end of the 19th century. A commemorative plaque near the house indicates that the great Belarusian poet Yakub Kolas was born here on November 3, 1882.
It is amazing to see the house where the family of the Belarusian classic lived for some time, an old barn, a well and a cellar. The estate contains exhibits that are mostly over 100 years old.
The museum is interesting not only for those who are interested in Poet's work, but also for those who want to learn more about the life and everyday life of Belarusians of the generation that Yakub Kolas wrote about.
