The Trinity Church in the village of Krupets is an architectural monument of wooden architecture.
The village of Krupets in Dobrush district has a history dating back to the beginning of the 18th century. After the First Partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1772, the settlement became the property of Count Rumyantsev-Zadunaisky. Around this time, it was divided into the Old and New Krupets. Both of these settlements still exist today.
In 1830, an Orthodox wooden church was erected in the village. According to legend, it was built by a man who, having turned to God, was cured of a serious illness.
During World War II, the Germans burned down the entire village, including the church. However, when they tried to set fire to the temple, local women came out with pitchforks, and the priest fell to his knees, offering his life in exchange for preserving the holy place. As a result, the Germans abandoned the church and today it is a unique example of wooden architecture.
In 1967, a monument was erected in Stary Krupets in honor of 270 fellow villagers who died in the war.
During the Soviet period, during a festive service, Priest Peter and his family, and priest Nikolai, who came to the festive service, were shot. Currently, their graves are located on the territory of the temple behind the altar.
Today, the Trinity Church in Krupets is a symbol of the village, a significant historical heritage. It attracts the attention of tourists interested in history and architecture.
