Description
In the Shchuchinsky district of the Grodno region there is the village of Starye Vasilishki, which has only about 30 inhabitants. At first glance, there is not much interesting here, but such small settlements often hide the real cultural treasures of Belarus. One of these attractions is the Church of Saints Peter and Paul. It is a monument of Neo-Gothic architecture and is recognized as a historical and cultural value of Belarus. The church impresses with its scale and beauty all the guests of the village.

A majestic and atmospheric church with its own interesting history. This is one of the most beautiful Neo-Gothic churches in Belarus.
Travelers visiting the village of Starye Vasilishki are surprised by the beauty of this Catholic building.
The church was built on voluntary donations from parishioners in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was designed by a Polish architect, who was undoubtedly inspired and tried to put his soul into his brainchild. Its grandeur and power are still striking today.
Among tourists, the walls of the church are of interest, on which there are unusually painted inscriptions. According to legend, the names of the founders of the temple were marked there, but the name of Emperor Nicholas II was painted over by order of the governor, since it was not in the first place.
The church has remained unchanged, despite the wars and other trials. It is known that in 1953, during the period of church persecution, the church was closed, and was returned to the faithful in 1988
The musician Cheslav Nemen, whose father was the organist of the church, was born in Starye Vasilishki. A memorial plaque to the Polish musician Czeslaw Nemen has been installed in the church. Don't miss the chance to enjoy the sounds of the organ and the atmosphere of this amazing place. Open up to its beauty, look at the candles and the interior, and allow yourself some privacy.
The frescoes on the walls of the church are more than 100 years old, but they look great, wonderful stained glass windows give the temple a solemn appearance.
The church is very majestic and atmospheric, with its own interesting history. Definitely, this is one of the most beautiful Neo-Gothic churches in Belarus, which is both impressive in appearance and interior decoration. Driving nearby - don't drive by!
