Starye Dorogi. Anatoly Bely House Museum
Anatoly Bely is widely known as the founder of the Minsk cultural and educational club "Spadchyna" (Heritage), which was established in 1984. The main purpose of this club was to promote and popularize Belarusian culture and history. The Spadchyna Club regularly hosted meetings with various cultural and scientific figures, including writers, artists, scientists, public figures, artists and clergymen.
In 1999, Anatoly Bely opened the first private museum of fine art in Belarus in his estate in Starye Dorozhy. Today, this museum covers an area of about 500 square meters, which houses about 1,700 paintings, graphics, sculptures, medals, and decorative and applied arts of Belarus. The museum's exhibits reflect the rich and dramatic history of Belarus, from ancient times to the present day.
The Hall of the History of Belarus contains portraits of all famous Belarusian princes, saints, generals, political and statesmen, as well as religious, cultural and educational figures. Here visitors can find portraits of Euphrosyne of Polotsk, Kirill Turovsky, Francisk Skorina, Gediminas and many other representatives of noble Belarusian princely families.
Special exhibitions of the museum are dedicated to such important personalities as Yanka Kupala, Yakub Kolas, Maxim Bogdanovich and Vasil Bykov. A separate room has been allocated for the latter in the museum, where editions of his books in Belarusian and other languages, drawings and personal belongings of the writer are presented.
