Ruins of the Church of Peter and Paul.
The village of Starinki, located near Dzerzhinsk, has a rich history dating back to the 15th century. At this time, the King of Poland and the Grand Duke of Lithuania, Casimir IV, granted the place to the patrimony of Prince Vasily Vereysky. Although today the Old Towns cannot boast of many attractions, one of them attracts attention — the dilapidated Church of St. Peter and Paul.
It was originally planned to build a church here. The temple was built at the expense of the local landowner Alexander Lensky in the style of late classicism. The construction was completed in 1836 and the church was consecrated as a Uniate church. However, already in 1839 it was transferred to the Orthodox Church, which added to its historical significance.
Unfortunately, the church experienced the consequences of the Great Patriotic War, when it was destroyed and was no longer restored.
Today, its ruins are a picturesque monument that looks especially beautiful in autumn, when the surrounding nature is painted in bright colors.
A visit to the ruins of the Church of St. Peter and Paul can be an interesting addition to a trip to Sula. This is an interesting atmospheric place filled with the atmosphere of history, allowing you to reflect on the past and enjoy the beauty of abandoned architecture.
