The building of the noble assembly in Slutsk.

The building of the noble assembly in Slutsk is a historical monument that occupies a special place in the architectural heritage of the city. In the 19th century, Slutsk was the center of the district of the Minsk province, and at that time several significant administrative buildings were built here.

The history of the noble assembly building dates back to the end of the 18th century, when it was built as a manor house. The land for construction was purchased from the Ilyinsky Monastery, and soon a complex appeared here, including an apartment building, outbuildings and a pond created to drain the area.

The building is a one-storey classical-style building, characterized by elegant architectural details. The entrance to the building is decorated with columns and an impressive pediment, which gives it a majestic appearance.

The first owner was a retired German military man, referred to only by the initials "pan B.S.". He was a graduate of the University of Hamburg, spoke several languages and was interested in literature. After his death, the estate fell into disrepair.

Later, baron Stahl, the Slutsk mayor, settled here, leaving memories of Slutsk in 1820-1840. Apparently, after his departure, the building was handed over to the city authorities and became the home of the noble assembly. The walls of this ancient mansion witnessed many events.

The building survived the turbulent 20th century, was able to resist and became a symbol of the city's antiquity.

Since 1952, the building has housed the exposition of the Slutsk Museum of Local Lore, which allows preserving and popularizing the history and culture of the region.

In 2019, the building underwent major repairs, funded from the budget of the Slutsk district.
