The Church of God's Providence in Slobodka is a symbol of the Braslav region.

The first Catholic church on this site was built more than two hundred years ago. However, over time, the number of parishioners increased significantly, and by the end of the 19th century it became clear that it was necessary to build a new, more spacious building.

Construction began in 1901 and was completed just two years later. The church, called the Church of God's Providence, soon opened its doors to the faithful. It is also sometimes referred to as the Church of the Heart of Jesus because of the statue of Christ holding a heart mounted on the altar.

During the Second World War, the interior of the temple was partially damaged, and later the building was temporarily used as a granary.

However, in 1953, the Catholic community managed to return the shrine. Today, the church is active and attracts a large number of pilgrims and tourists.

The temple stands out from the surrounding buildings due to its location on a hill and its snow-white color. Its silhouette is formed by two tall towers with sharp hipped ends. Its architecture is dominated by the Neo-Romanesque style with elements of Neo-Gothic: large rose windows, slender bell towers and laconic decor. The iron coinage of the main door of the church is a monument of monumental decorative art and blacksmithing.

The interior of the temple is decorated with unique murals created, according to one of the legends, by the artist Gennady, who was treated for alcoholism. However, it is more likely that the work was carried out by Vitebsk craftsmen.

The Church of Divine Providence remains an important spiritual and cultural center, attracting attention with its beauty and history.
