Sinkevichi. St. George the Victorious. Church

Between Mikashevichi and Luninets there is a place called Sinkevichi with a unique church of St. George. The church was built in a local cemetery along with a bell tower.

The church is located in the very east of the village. Initially, apparently, the church was built as a Uniate temple, and then it was handed over to the Orthodox believers.

The temple is made in the traditions of wooden Polesie folk architecture and is a unique architectural monument. In 2003, a stamp with the image of this church was issued in Belarus.

The interior features ancient icons from the 18th and 19th centuries, including: "The Nativity of Christ", "The Annunciation", "St. Cosma, Alexei and Demyan".

The building consists of four main parts: the vestibule, the refectory, the prayer hall and the apse. The church consists of a three-frame building with three rectangular volumes, which are equal in height. A massive low quadrangle is built over the prayer hall of the main volume, which is covered with a four-pitched roof. The refectory and the apse are covered with a hip roof.

A two-tiered log-frame bell tower was built in front of the church, which is covered with a four-pitched roof. Initially, the roof of the church and bell tower was covered with wood chips.
