Shemetovo. Ruins of the Skirmunts' estate.

Shemetovo is an ancient settlement with a five-century history! The owners of these lands were the Shemets, Strabowskis, Zenovichs and other famous noble families. The last owner of the estate was Boleslav Skirmunt. In the late 19th - early 20th centuries, numerous outbuildings and a one-story palace were built in Shemetovo.

Arriving in Shemetovo, to the left of the road you will see the majestic ruins of a two-story building made of red brick with a basement made of rubble stone. Many people think that these are the remains of the lord's palace, but the palace building was wooden and burned down during the war in 1943. In front of you are the ruins of a two-story brewery. Around, if you walk around the neighborhood and the park, you can see more than a dozen outbuildings in this condition. On a hill in the middle of the village stands the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, built with funds from B. Skirmunt at the beginning of the 20th century. Behind the church there is an ancient system of ponds, which still operates under the name "Shemetovo Fish Nursery".

It should be noted that the village of Shemetovo is located several kilometers from the highway, and the Shemetovo estate and church are next to the highway.
