Semkov Gorodok. The Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God.

A stone Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God has been built in the town of Semkov Gorodok, Minsk region. The place was first mentioned in the 16th century during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. At that time, the name of the town was the Town of Solomeretsky, and belonged to the famous Belarusian family of the Solomeretsky princes.

Since 1595, it has been part of the Semkov estate of the Minsk district of the Minsk Voivodeship. Then the place passed to the Stetskevich family, after Princess Elena Solomeretskaya married Bogdan Stetskevich.

Then the estate passed to Adam Khmara in 1755. After the second partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1793, the town became part of the Russian Empire. In 1905-1906, the poet Yanka Kupala worked at a local estate on gum factory. Then the poet Yakub Kolas worked as an accountant here at the Semkovo farm in 1922.

In 1802, Adam Khmara's money was used to build a Catholic church, which was rebuilt as an Orthodox church in 1866 during the Russian Empire. The building was built in the Baroque style with classical features. The parents of the classic of Belarusian literature, poet Maxim Bogdanovich, were married in the temple.

After the Great Patriotic War, the building began to fall into disrepair.

In the early 2000s, the building was handed over to Orthodox believers, and repairs were carried out. The Orthodox Church is working here now.
