Selivanovtsy. The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
In the village of Selivanovtsy, Grodno region, a stone Catholic church was built, which was consecrated in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The first church in the village was built during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. In 1775, the church was already mentioned in documents as a branch of the Catholic parish in the town of Gozha.
After some time, since 1795, the parish in Selivanovtsy acquired its independence. A few years later, the wooden church was destroyed by fire. The new stone church was built during the Russian Empire in 1840. According to other sources – the church was built in the period 1865-1867. Countess Sobolevskaya financed the shrine.
An organ was made for the temple at the beginning of the 20th century, which was installed in the temple under Prince Shiman Varlak. In 1905 – 1908, a new pleban was built under Ksenia Modelevskaya. For the shrine, local resident Jan Kurchevsky from the village of Monkovtsy made 14 sculptures out of wood.
One of the church documents says that the organ was restored in 1928.
The monument is rectangular in plan, covered with a gable roof. The apse has a hip roof. The main facade has a trapezoidal pediment above which is built a multi–tiered bell tower of eight on four. The interior has three naves. There are choirs above the entrance. A stone fence has been erected around the temple.
