Description
Between towns Dyatlovo and Mosty, among the forests, there is a small village with an unusual name Ruda Yavorskaya. In the 18th century, Marsh ore ('ruda') was mined here and there was the Javor estate, which belonged to the Radziwills, and then to the Ivanovskys. During the time of the Polish state, a wooden church was built in 1936, which was consecrated in honor of St. Joseph. In Soviet times, a warehouse was made in the temple. In recent years, repairs have been carried out. The church is functioning.

Ruda Yavorskaya. St. Joseph's Church
The town of Ruda Yavorskaya was founded on the birches of a small river Podyavorka. These places belonged to the Radziwill magnates in the 18th century and Marsh ore was mined here. The Radziwills owned this mine and the local Yavor yard, from which the name of the town originated. Then the Ivanovskys became the owners of the estate.
After the Peace of Riga in 1921, these lands passed to the Polish state and in 1936 a Catholic church was built. The church was consecrated in August 1937.
In 1939, when the Soviet government came, the church was handed over to Orthodox believers. The church worked here until 1976. Then the building was transferred to the needs of the local collective farm and a folding room was made here. In the last years of the USSR, in 1989, the church was returned to Catholic believers. Repairs were carried out.
The building is wooden, glued together from rectangular log cabins: a porch, the main volume of the prayer hall and a pentagonal apse with side sacristy. A four-tiered bell tower is built over the narthex, which is covered with a hipped roof. The altar part of the church is covered with a hip roof over which there is a small tent tower on a four-sided drum. The interior has choirs that are supported on four pillars.
