Description
In the Brest region, on the way from Brest to the town of Vysokoe, there is a small village of Rakovitsa, where a chapel has been built at the local cemetery. This is the chapel-tomb of the noble Tollochko family, which was built in the early 20th century in the Neo-Gothic style. There was a manor house with a park in the village, but only the chapel, the remains of the park and an alley of poplars have survived to our time.
The chapel was looted and the tower on the building was partially destroyed. The burials of the Tollochko and some other old burials of the local nobility have been preserved near the chapel. The chapel needs to be restored.

Rakovitsa. Chapel-tomb of the Tollochko family.
Rakovitsa was first mentioned in the 16th century. It belonged to different owners: the Romanovs, the Sokols, then the Princes Shuiskys. There was a Uniate chapel in the local cemetery, where the Shuisky were buried.
Then Rakovitsa passed in the 18th century to the Tollochko family and belonged to them for 200 years. The last owner was Theodor Tollochko (1876-1946), who was married to Jadwiga from the Panikwicki family. Tollochko built a manor house with a park and a chapel–tomb at the cemetery. An alley with poplars, which is 6 meters wide, led to the palace of the estate.
The family burial was at the local cemetery on a hill, where the Shuisky Uniate church was located at a distance from the palace. The Tollochko Chapel was built in 1910 from brick in the Neo-Gothic style. Above the entrance there is a four-sided tower with a spire at the corners of which there were small turrets. There are three Neo-Gothic windows on each side of the chapel. The apse is triangular with buttresses. To the left of the chapel is the grave of Stanislav Tollochko (1868-1935).
S. Tollochko was known in Poland as a teacher and scientist. He graduated from the University of Physics and Mathematics in Warsaw. He completed his internship in Germany, and after defending his doctorate, he worked in Lviv at a local university, where he was director of the Institute of Chemistry. Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of Chemistry, author of textbooks and scientific papers on organic chemistry, according to which several generations of students studied in Poland.
There are many old stone tombstones in the cemetery. Behind the chapel is the grave of Leokadia Panikvitskaya and Roman Malakhovsky.
In Soviet times, the chapel was looted. The upper part of the tower has been dismantled. The chapel is in a neglected state.
