Radivonishki. Assumption Church.

In the Lida district along the Lida-Shchuchin highway beyond the Ditva River there is a turn to the right to the place of Radivonishki. In the center of the village at the crossroads there is a 19th-century stone Orthodox church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Since the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, there has been a wooden Uniate church here, and as soon as the stone Orthodox church was built, the chapel was dismantled and only the cross remained of it.

The church was built in 1869. The temple was built, as they say, by the whole world. For four years, local parishioners carried stones and bricks on their horses, made domes and painted icons, painted walls and made church decorations themselves.

In Soviet times, in 1960, the temple was closed, the church decoration was taken out on a collective farm truck. People managed to sort out some of the icons and property at home. One of the icons was taken to his house by a little school-age guy. And when he became an adult, he became a famous musician, folklorist and writer in our country - this is Ivan Kirchuk. The icon, which was saved, was brought by I. Kirchuk and returned to the Orthodox shrine, which was given to believers and repaired in the 1990s.

The church was built in pseudo-Russian style according to a standard design. It consists of 4 main parts. There is a multi-tiered bell tower above the narthex. The building is built of brick and rubble stone. When decorating the temple, a "Raisin" laying was used.
