The Prechistenskaya Church in Povitye is an outstanding monument of wooden architecture.
The architectural composition of the temple is a large-scale structure with a complex and multifaceted structure. The church is decorated with a high tent belfry. The main volume of the church consists of a tall log cabin, which ends with a central octagonal light drum with a tent top and an onion dome, as well as four corner chapels on slender two-tiered necks. A five-sided apse with a hip roof adjoins the main volume from the east, and an elongated porch and a vestibule with a bell tower above it from the west.
Low triangular sacristy rooms are located inside the central log house, and the figured three-lobed side gables give the temple artistic expressiveness and grandeur. The tall multi-tiered tent bell tower with a bulbous dome is the vertical dominant of the composition.
The church's decor includes angular and rectangular shoulder blades, geometrized window frames, and the main entrance is highlighted by a two-column porch with a tent and a cupola. The interior space under the dome is illuminated by a light drum, which is supported on the walls of the central log house through the sails.
The temple has a rich interior, in which you can see icons of the 17th and 18th centuries, such as the Holy Great Martyr Demetrius (1745), the Mother of God Odigitria, Jesus Christ and the Savior Pantokrator.
Today, the Prechistenskaya Church is an important cultural and architectural heritage of the region, attracting the attention of both locals and tourists.
