Description
There is a lot to see in the ancient town of Porozovo. A gentry estate, a Catholic church and an Orthodox church have been preserved here. The stone synagogue of the 19th century is of great interest.
The synagogue was two-storied and had 2 parts: a prayer hall for men and a prayer hall for women. The building is built of rubble stone and brick. When the building began to fall into disrepair, it was put up for sale. A few years ago, a private owner bought the synagogue. The building is being renovated.

Porozovo. Synagogue.
The ancient town of Porozovo in the Svislochsky district has been known since the 15th century. At first it belonged to the king and belonged to the Novogrudok voivodeship. Jan Ridvid founded the first church here in 1460. In 1506, the Grand Duke of Lithuania Alexander gave the town the right of Magdeburg. Somewhere at this time, the first Jews appeared in Porozovo.
After the third partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795, Porozovo became part of the Russian Empire. By order of Empress Catherine II, all Jews were ordered to move from villages to cities and towns. And in the 19th century, Porozovo had a significant part of the population of Jews. Several synagogues and houses of worship were built. In 1878, there were about 300 houses in the village. In 1878, the population was 1,424, and 556 of them were Jews. At the beginning of the 20th century, during the time of Poland, all the temples in Porozovo were working. During the Great Patriotic War, Porozovo was under occupation and most of the Jews were exterminated by the Nazis.
Today there is a church, a church and a gentry estate in the village. A stone synagogue from the 19th century has also been preserved to our time. The synagogue is two-storied, built of rubble stone. A few years ago, it was bought by a private owner and is currently being renovated.
Born in Porozovo, the famous theater and film actress, the founder of the Jewish theater in Warsaw, Esther Rachel Kaminskaya (1870-1925).
